Rossendale based Alt / Indie / Grunge band ‘Dead Tennant’ headline this next instalment of our Emerging Band nights, with support from alt rock / post punk band Greenskin and Burnley based rockers Zoltar.

​

Dead Tenant were formed in 2021 and cite Neil Young, The Cure, Joy Division and Radiohead as some of their musical influences. They entertained the crowds here at St Mary’s Chambers supporting Milltown Brothers in 2024 and have performed high profile support slots around the North West to rave reviews.  We are looking forward to their return to the venue for their own headline set.

Greenskin rose from the ashes of local favourites Mighty Asylum and wowed us during our battle of the bands competition last summer. Burnley rockers Zoltar were runners up in our summer battle of the bands competition and impressed all in attendance with their 70’s infused stoner / rock original material reminiscent of bands such as Pink Floyd, Foo Fighters and Queens of the Stone Age.

The Drifters are back on tour in the UK performing all their classic hits including ‘Saturday Night at the Movies', ‘You’re More Than A Number,’ ‘Come on Over to My Place’, ‘Under the Boardwalk’, ‘Kissin’ In The Back Row’ and many more!  

The legendary group have been inducted into the Rock & Roll of Fame, performed for the President of the United States and listed among the Greatest Artists of All Time by Rolling Stone magazine.  

Under the guidance of Tina Treadwell (daughter of the group’s original founders, George & Faye Treadwell) The Drifters have enjoyed a remarkable resurgence in recent years with multiple successful UK tours including headline shows in major arenas and, most notably, the world famous Royal Albert Hall in London for the ever first time in the group’s glittering career.  “I am thrilled with the success of our recent UK tours and we invite you all to join us in continuing to celebrate this incredible and everlasting story of The Drifters.” Said Tina, speaking about the tour.

An influential guitarist, singer, songwriter from Manchester whose eclectic body of work spans from The Stone Roses, Ian Bown, Simply Red, Asia to writing/staging south Asian symphonies for the Manchester Camerata . He has had chart success with Ian Brown (co-writing songs such as My Star, Corpses & many more) plus delivered guitars, vocals & songs for Paul Weller. Over a career spanning more than three decades, the Longsight council estate born guitarist has played or written for artists such as Simply Red, Paul Weller, Manic St Preachers, Mike Joyce and Andy Rourke of The Smiths, folk singer Donovan, UK rapper Akala and progressive rock musicians Asia, Steven Wilson (Porcupine Tree), Marillion, Yukihiro Takahashi (Yellow Magic Orchestra) and JBK (Japan). Aziz founded the Asian Blues Collective with Tabla maestro Dalbir Singh Rattan in developing his own unique south Asian instrument influenced sound. His present instrumental release on all platforms is 'The Key Of 3'. Currently Aziz is recording an EP for Brazilian superstar Nasi and releasing new solo music for 2025.

Rossendale’s annual SKA festival returns August bank Holiday weekend at St Mary’s Chambers on Sunday 24th August 2025. After the sold-out success of last years festival, we have continued with the addition of Punk and Mod and have another fantastic show in store.

The line-up features some of the best local Ska / Mod and Punk acts on the circuit. 

Headlined this year by the mighty SkaFull, who have graced our stage on many previous occasions.

The Lively six-piece band hailing from Burnley, with brass section, perform classic covers taking in ska, 2-Tone and reggae and have a huge following in the North West.
